Training on the Menu for WAST

Training on the Menu for WAST

More than 170 people have gained their Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification since January 2022, thanks to our Jigsaw Employment and Training Team (JET).

Last week was the turn of WAST (Women Seeking Asylum Together) with 14 women completing the course in Central Manchester.

Eunice Manu, WAST Grassroots Co-Ordinator said: “The training was delivered at a pace that suited the women who can now prepare meals for each other at our weekly drop-in. It really made a massive difference for us, as we wouldn’t have been able to afford to pay a facilitator to do this for us so thank you Jigsaw and your team once again for supporting us.”

Pictured with the group is Neighbourhood Engagement Officer John McGlynn who organised and delivered the training.

JET can offer this qualification to anyone aged 16+ either in person or online.  If you know an individual or group that would benefit from learning and gaining a nationally recognised qualification in food hygiene please email employmentsupport@jigsawhomes.org.uk and we will make contact and arrange it.
