Tenant Evicted after Successful Court Case by Neighbourhood Safety Team

A tenant in Cheshire who caused repeated incidents of anti-social behaviour has been evicted following a complex and lengthy investigation by Jigsaw’s Neighbourhood Safety Team.

Jigsaw’s Neighbourhood Safety Team initially sought an Injunction and Power of Arrest against the tenant whose ongoing anti-social behaviour, complicated by her mental health, had caused anguish to the local community since December 2020.

During the court case, His Honour Judge Gregory heard the matter at Chester County Court and found all allegations proven and determined that it was reasonable to make a Possession Order. Bailiffs attended the address on Liverpool Road in Neston last week.

HH Judge Gregory was especially complimentary of Jigsaw’s actions including that of Neighbourhood Safety Officers, Emma Quinn and Jennifer Darbyshire, whose respective efforts with support services and proportionality assessment both received a special mention and approval.

The Judge also stated that Jigsaw Homes had ‘gone above and beyond’ what was expected of them as a social landlord.

Jigsaw’s solicitors, Capsticks, also commended both Neighbourhood Safety Officers for providing a watertight case in a very complex disability case.

Kate Sullivan, Neighbourhood Safety Manager at Jigsaw Homes Group said: “Anti-Social Behaviour can be extremely upsetting for victims and communities. We all have a right to feel safe where we live and cases like this demonstrate the hard work and effort that goes into building a case for court.”
