You Said We Did: Neighbourhood Plans Survey

This Jigsaw Rewards survey asked residents for their views on what information should be contained within the new Neighbourhood Plans. These are documents, which our Neighbourhood Engagement team use to prioritise and target resources in our communities, have been in place for three years and are now being reviewed.

In this survey we asked residents for their views to help us prepare the new plans. A total of 200 residents told us their views on what statistics and information they would like to see included and what format they would like the plans to be published in.

You said: 69% of residents said they were concerned about the effects of poverty on pensioners and children.

We did:  We will ensure that all our Neighbourhood Plans include statistics on pensioners and children in poverty. Where this is higher than average our Neighbourhood Engagement team will give opportunities to residents to engage in projects and initiatives to help reduce these types of poverty.

You said:  74% of residents said they would like to access the Plans via the Jigsaw website. A smaller but still significant number of residents told it was important that offline copies were also available.

We did: The plans will primarily be on the Jigsaw website as they will frequently update as data changes. However, staff in Jigsaw offices and hubs will be able to show plans to residents in person and Connect staff will be able to post out a snapshot of current data when residents call and request this.

You said: 52% of Jigsaw Rewards members said they would prefer to see data about health included in the Neighbourhood Plans.

We did: We will work with individual communities to map the health and wellbeing opportunities currently available and signpost residents to existing provision. We will also create projects to address any gaps in provision.

You said: Survey participants said that unemployment rates were the most important statistic to residents within the topic of employment and training.

We did: We will ensure that all our Neighbourhood Plans include unemployment data. Where this is higher than average, our Neighbourhood Engagement team will support  residents to engage in projects and initiatives to help people towards work opportunities.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the survey.
