In May 2023, we asked Jigsaw Rewards members to review our Cost of Living Support Webpage and since then, we’ve been working hard to make some changes based on the feedback from the 162 people who took part in the consultation.
A total of 87% of survey participants felt Jigsaw was doing enough to help people struggling with the cost of living and 99% felt the webpage was easy to understand.
Many people taking part in the survey made suggestions for things Jigsaw already does – for example, employment advice, classes around cooking on a budget, referrals for help with food costs via the Money Advice Team. While people agree Jigsaw should offer these services, this has highlighted the need to promote these services more.
Some of the main changes we made to the cost of living webpage include:
You said: It would be good to know about affordable ways to save and borrow money.
We did: We’ve added information to webpage about credit unions and a link to find your local one.
You said: It would be useful to have information about which energy tariffs are cheapest.
We did: We added a link to our website which will take you to the Money Saving Expert website, which can give you reliable and up to date information about the cheapest energy tariffs for the area you live in and other energy saving tips.
You said: People didn’t know that Jigsaw had a webpage with cost of living information.
We did: We have been and will continue to promote the webpage more.
You said: Financial struggles can affect people’s mental health, can you include something on the web page about this?
We did: We’ve added a mental wellbeing section to the cost of living webpage.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the survey.
