Parading with Pride in Lancaster

Parading with Pride in Lancaster

To celebrate Pride month, Jigsaw residents from Oak Tree House in Lancaster waved their rainbow flags high as they marched in the Lancaster Pride Festival on Sunday 25 June.

The colourful parade included a number of events and performances from local musicians during the day, with everybody joining together to celebrate love and acceptance.

The Lancaster Pride festival, alongside many other parades held across the globe, celebrates the anniversary of the 1959 Stonewall protests in the USA that helped to change LGBTQ+ rights across the world.

Shannon O’Hare, our Operations Manager, said: “It was a fantastic day for all involved in celebrating the diversity of our community, staff team and residents.

“Our colleague Simone handed out stickers and flags to spectators whilst residents joined in the colourful sea of paraders, proudly waving our rainbow flags and Jigsaw flags.”
