Miles Platting summer holiday food and fun

In the first two weeks of August, 4CT (a charity that supports people, neighbourhoods and communities across Greater Manchester) partnered with Church of the Apostles to deliver a holiday food and activities project for thirty young families based in Miles Platting. This was made possible by the financial support from Jigsaw Homes’ funds.

The service offers parents and children breakfast and nutritional education activities. To support promoting a healthy lifestyle, a trip to Debdale Outdoor Centre was offered where families can enjoy a variety of exciting water activities. Physical activity games at Church of the Apostles also took place.

Many parents enjoyed the opportunity to socialise with other parents and children enjoyed playing games and eating great food.

This project is delivered as part of low-cost food provision services Jigsaw Homes supports, such as the Community Grocer.

This is the second year this project has run and it will be continued in autumn half-term and Easter next year with referrals being taken through local schools and children centres.
