Recently, the Neighbourhood Engagement and Housing Officers (Rosemary Grant-Muller, Carolyn Alston, John Gilmore, Dave Crowe and Patrice Campbell) hosted the Miles Platting Summer Festival for residents and community groups at Miles Platting Community Library.
120 residents enjoyed outdoor activities such as a climbing wall, inflatable slides, fairground rides, an animal experience and face painting, as well as food served by the local church.
The annual summer festival is one of many seasonal events under our Miles Platting Neighbourhood Plan that encourage community involvement, raise awareness of local projects and build partnerships with local youth organisations. It was also a great opportunity to involve residents from the newly-built scheme of homes opposite the library for the first time.
Local community groups really enjoy the opportunity to raise awareness with residents and raise money for their projects. Everyone enjoyed the free play and sport activities, with more on offer for older children this year.
£100 raised from the food will go to the North West Powerchair Football League.
Well done to everyone involved for such a successful event!
