Work Starts at Warton to Build 345 Homes

A special ground breaking ceremony was held last week to mark the official start on site at our latest development in Warton, Lancashire, in partnership with developer Countryside.

We are providing 105 affordable homes, at Beaumont Green, located between Lytham and Preston, as part of the 345 home scheme.

This will support Fylde Borough Council’s ambition to ensure people living in the borough, or with a strong local connection, have the opportunity to access quality, affordable homes.

As part of the development, over £1million is being invested in the local community. This includes £650,000 towards local education provision, £375,000 for public transport, £24,000 to the Council’s sustainable travel team, and a further £126,000 towards enhancements to Warton village centre.

Jigsaw Homes Group’s Deputy Chief Executive Brian Moran was joined by Garnet Fazackerley our Operations Director of Development, Councillor Bob Rigby from Fylde Borough Council, Mark Hadfield MD of Countryside Merseyside and Cheshire West, and sales team members, to break ground at the site.

Garnet Fazackerley said: “We are pleased to be working with Countryside to deliver more quality, affordable housing that meets local housing need and a place where our residents and communities can thrive.

“We are proud to be providing hundreds of homes across Lancashire as part of our ambitious plan to deliver 3,500 new affordable homes in our regions by 2026.”

Mark Hadfield, Managing Director, Merseyside and Cheshire West, Countryside: “Partnerships with registered providers and local authorities underpin our entire business model at Countryside. Through collaboration with partners such as Jigsaw Homes, our development portfolio remains diverse, delivering the homes that people need in the areas that need them most.

“Beaumont Green is an important development for us, and one that we are keen to share. It was great to get the opportunity to celebrate a successful partnership with Jigsaw. Together we are bringing a development that will not only satisfy local housing demand, but will also enhance the wider community through significant investment.”

Bobby Rigby, Ward Councillor (Warton and Westby), Fylde Borough Council, commented: “Having been approached by some local residents regarding this site, I thought it was appropriate for me to come down and engage with the partners involved. It was great to see the plans and find out more about the work being done, especially the work to mitigate future flood risks.

“There will be a variety of houses on offer at the development in Warton, including a large proportion of much needed affordable housing. Beaumont Green is an exciting development for the local area.”
