A total of 24 affordable homes are set to be built in Ardwick, Manchester after plans were given the go ahead by Manchester City Council.
The plans were submitted by Eden Planning on behalf of local housing provider Jigsaw Homes Group and will be built on land at the junction of Devonshire Street and Coverdale Crescent.
Jigsaw acquired the vacant site from Trafford-based regeneration specialists Peel Waters in conjunction with Manchester City Council.
There will also be off-street parking, as well as seven parking spaces and 28 cycle spaces and landscaped areas. It will offer high levels of energy efficiency to ensure low running costs for residents.
The homes, which will be available for social rent, will be allocated by Manchester City Council to meet local housing need as part of the Single Homeless Accommodation Programme (SHAP) and residents will receive tailored support through Jigsaw Support to help them on the path to living independently.
Funding for the development comes from Homes England and the Department for Levelling Up, Homes and Communities.

This scheme will ensure that people receive the right personalised support until they are ready to take the next step towards independent living.”
Work on the scheme is expected to complete in August 2025.
Architects for the project are DK Architects, planning is by Eden Planning and contractors are RP Tyson Construction.
